Notte originaria

Perchè pensare a quell'evento passato cosi grave ?
.
Drawing from the most astonishing images throughout the history of art, Pascal Quignard Goncourt winner raises the question of the origins of man and confronts head-on the difficulty of speaking the unspeakable, of representing the unrepresentable, the sexual act. He offers us an anthology of the "primal scene" (scena primitiva) as defined by Freud (come un fantasmo originario) by pursuing the unique perspective that he initiated with his book on sex and fear, "Le sexe et l'effroi" and "La Nuit sexuelle ": "I am looking to take a step towards the source of fear that men feel when they consider what they once were before their bodies projected shadows in this world. If, behind this fascination, lies the missing image, behind the missing image, there is something else still: the night."
